The area’s biggest city is Bend, Oregon with a population of about 77,000 people. Located in the center of the state, Bend has Deschutes National State Park to the west and south of the city. Deschutes River runs though the city and continues into the park.

Mt. Bachelor Ski and Summer Resort has one of the longest winter seasons for downhill skiing and snow riding in North America, as well as the #1 lift system voted by readers of Ski Magazine on multiple occasions.
